The focus is the person whose basic needs should determine the design of public spaces ... - see Jahn Gehl in »life between buildings«, 1971.
In which public spaces are people exposed to inconveniences and what elements lead to it? This theme is dedicated to the concept of the developed concrete facade.
In places like underpasses, car parks, metro stations, ... people are exposed to an inconvenience, which is often due to the darkness. Therefore, the main question is how to fill these spaces with light while saving resources.
Fiber optic cables, which are activated by the sun to transport the light, are installed in the casing and enclosed in the concrete. The crystal geometries emerge from the analysis of a cone of light to reflect the light as best as possible. A facade element is created, which is used to illuminate dark places while being light on resources.
